This book. *chef's kiss*. I haven't felt this connected to a piece of literature since freshman year when my English prof made us read Nineteen Eighty-Four. Reflections on the Existence of God: A Series of Essays by Arthur Schopenhauer is an absolute masterpiece and it pushed me way outta my comfort zone, both intellectually and spiritually!
But beyond just getting me to think, this book made me FEEL like never before. All through high school, I was desperate to explore whether or not a higher power exists in our lives - but after staring into the infinite abyss that is philosophy for too long, I gave up and stopped caring about religion altogether. Going back to this book as an adult changed everything; its ability to show how beautiful life can be really hit me deep (I cried, y'all!).
I've been all over Amazon trying to find things that quite literally move me - something with real substance - without much luck... until now! Reflections on the Existence of God: A Series of Essays is definitely worth checking out. It totally opened my eyes to a whole new side of life and helped restore some sorta faith (<3). 10/10 recommend!!
