Seeing "Playing it Cool" was an absolute, life-changing event. Not only was the storyline gripping - a young, overly romantic man (played brilliantly by Chris Evans) had his heart broken when he unexpectedly falls in love with someone who is already engaged - but the film also presented awe inspiring moments of raw authenticity. Watching these characters grapple with the fear of loving and being loved, while trying to keep their cool on an emotional rollercoaster ride is both hilarious and heartbreaking .
The remarkable soundtrack cleverly provokes all sorts of outrageous emotions throughout the film; from wild joy to deep sorrow you can feel your entire range of the human condition in this movie. The chemistry between Evans andstar Michelle Monaghan will draw even those most emotionally constipated out of their shells -- you really can't help but connect with these two incredible leads!
But beyond that, what made Playing It Cool truly extraordinary were its thought-provoking themes which left me pondering long after I had seen it: What responsibilities come with loving unconditionally?; how much control do we have over our hearts?; Can 'playing it cool' lead to anything besides loneliness? This movie challenges viewers to assess how they live on multiple levels -- yes even if at times you wanted shout 'No don't do that!' a lot more than once during viewing.
I am not just saying this lightly either - go watch Playing it Cool right now, because every generous doseof laughter, tears and emotion are guaranteed returns for your time investment here!
