My life was in a bit of a rut until I got my hands on Crap Taxidermy here. It's been like hitting the turbo boost button, taking me from slogging around to running through a marathon! I'm now living and breathing taxidermy in ways I never imagined before--I wake up excited every day to find new projects and create even more incredible works of art with Crap Taxidermy as my guide.
The best part about this book is that it goes beyond just listing supplies - it really helps you understand the theory behind each piece which makes sure your masterpiece is more than just skin deep (if you pardon the pun). One example I can think of is when discussing antlers for your animal sculpture: instead of simply providing an A-Z list of what type you need, they discuss why certain ones might be better depending on where your sculpture will be displayed.
That said, even though Crap Taxidermy has helped elevate my craft to another level, people who aren't already familiar with good taxidermists' tactics may not appreciate all its subtleties right away - so don't expect everyone to give enthusiastic reviews straight away! Personally though, life has taken an exciting turn since picking up this book…and no amount of negative feedback or online comments can take that away ;)
