I recently read 'Kim Jong Un and the Bomb: Survival and Deterrence in North Korea'
by Dr. Lee Sang-Seok, and it was a real eye-opener! I had always been vaguely familiar with the dynamics of North Korean politics, but this book really gave me an insight into how power structures work within that society. The author's insights on diplomacy, military decisions and internal politics were invaluable. It's easy to forget that even hostile regimes need to act in self defense - something we can all understand no matter our political convictions. Highly recommended reading!
