I recently read the book Nation of Victims: Identity Politics, the Death of Merit, and the Path Back to Excellence and it was quite a page turner! At nearly 500 pages in length, I expected a longer journey but I must say that author Dinesh D'Souza did an excellent job keeping my attention in this hard hitting opus. The debates surrounding issues such as identity politics and meritocracy have never been so engagingly presented before - although at times he may be a bit too provocative (in a punning
way)! As someone who is concerned about our society's values slipping away from excellence, I found his arguments compelling on both sides yet ultimately convincing me towards agreeing with him more often than not. It certainly made for an enlightening experience and has given me plenty to think about for days afterwards. All things considered, Nation Of Victims was a great read!
